Dobhan Khola Hydropower Limited (DKHL) is developing the 24.5 MW Dobhan Khola Hydropower Project, a Peaking Run-of-River (PRoR) project located in Dharche Rural Municipality–1, Gorkha District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. The project harnesses the high-head potential of Dobhan Khola, a tributary of the Budhigandaki River, to generate clean, reliable, and sustainable electricity for Nepal’s national grid.

The project has successfully completed all major technical and regulatory milestones, including feasibility studies, environmental approval, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and generation license. Construction activities are underway, with access road and bridge works currently in progress, ensuring smooth connectivity to the powerhouse and intake areas.

Designed to meet modern engineering standards, the project will generate approximately 143.76 GWh of electricity annually. It will not only strengthen national energy security and provide reliable electricity for peak hours but also foster socio-economic development in the region through improved infrastructure, local employment, and skill development programs.

With a focus on environmental responsibility, the project maintains minimum downstream ecological flow and implements robust environmental safeguards. Supported by experienced leadership and strong financial fundamentals, DKHL is committed to delivering sustainable hydropower that benefits investors, local communities, and the nation.

This project reflects DKHL’s mission to provide clean energy solutions while contributing to long-term regional development and sustainable growth for Nepal.
